It never ends, everybody is a fuckin' huckster anymore. Consumer cellular advertises some attractive figures on their commercials so when a cut rate carrier I was on started getting flaky, I switched. I ordered their flip phone & signed up for the 200 minute a month plan for $15 + $5 for text data which is about what I use every month but the 1st month I went a hair over & got auto upgraded to the unlimited for $25 a month plus taxes & fees which took it to $30. Well I'm a sparing user of my phone but 200 minutes gives you 6 & 1/2 minutes a day limit if you wanna stay below the limit.
The 200 minute plan is just a come on to hook you in, hardly anyone but a recluse could stay below that usage but that wasn't the worst of it. With their phone, I couldn't send or get images on texts & their tech support had no answers why except to upgrade to a better phone. Well schmucks, why did you sell me a phone that wouldn't work properly?
So be wary of these guys, it's a jip. The only thing I could say good about them is they answered the phones in good time but fed up with this crappy service, I started looking around for other cheap services & came up with a carrier called Red Pocket. They give you 500 minutes & 500 texts for a measly $10 a month plus a couple bucks for fee & taxes. I just signed up with them so I can't give 'em a grade yet but everything got set up fast & customer service was prompt although if you do it by voice, you my get a hard to understand foreign agent. So there ya go, use this info as you see fit.
