This bullshit is as ethically criminal just as a bank robber except we aren't getting a gun in our face to steal your cash, you get to choose if you want to get robbed or not. And for that reason, to thief banks, I don't have any sympathy for you when a robber hits your banks & gets away with it.
Here's the banks I know of that are charging to cash your checks & the good guys that aren't, at least not yet. If you have accounts in the robber banks, take your business & give it to the good guys & tell the robbers you won't do biz with a bank that charges recipients of your checks a fee, maybe they'll get the message we're not going to put up with their thievery.
